Summer radish. Roots small, bicolor with fuschia on top and white at the base. White flesh. Roots vary in shape from round to elliptic to slightly flattened. 1-1.5 inches in diameter. Plants up to 7" tall. Early to maturity, but also bolted early when grown in spring 2016 and 2024 at Heritage Farm. A spicy radish that is zesty with a softer texture. This accession matches descriptions of Rosy Gem found in the 1902 JJ Bell, 1901 Burpee, and 1902 Briggs catalogues. This accession likely came to SSE from the USDA collection. SSE Accession # 118834
