Moderately large, indeterminate, red, oxheart tomato with good flavor that matures mid-season. Fruit are very meaty, slightly ribbed at the stem end, have a low splitting tendency, some radial crcking and some fasciation. Flavor is very sweet with a slight muskiness and low acidity. Fruits are susceptible to sunscald and display some greenshoulder. BRIX measured 5.9 in 2020 at HF.Fruits are between 3.5-4.5 inches long, 3-4.5 inches wide and 11-15 ounces. Plants are between 46-56 inches tall. Moderately productive. Jeanne Koopman moved to Cape Cod, Massachusetts in 1985 and met an avid gardener who shared this tomato with her. This gentleman said the tomato had been very popular, making the rounds of county fairs on the Cape for over 40 years. When Jeanne share it with SSE in 2008, she simply called it 'Italian Plum', so SSE revised the name to 'Cape Cod Italian Plum' to help differentiate it from other plum tomato strains.
