Edelrot

Small, early maturing, globe tomato on short, determinate plants. Red fruits measure 1.5-2" long, 2-2.5" wide, and weigh 1.5-3.8oz. Fruits borne in clusters up to 5. Plants do not have much disease resistance. Moderately thick skin, acidic, and very juicy. Highly productive when grown at Heritage Farm in 2023. Acquired by SSE from the Abundant Life Seed Foundation (CV Abu), likely in the early to mid 1980s. CV Abu described it as being a variety from East Germany which they obtained in 1976 from Milan Sodomko, a Czech breeder. SSE Accession # 121895
