White Pole Butterpea

Indeterminate pole lima. Straight pods measure 1.75-2.5 inches long and 0.5-0.7 inches wide. These short and stocky pods have 2 seeds. However, some pods are larger with much larger white seeds. These larger pods have 3 seeds per pod. Smooth texture, slightly sweet, mild flavor. Also the larger pods tend to be a bit more curved at the end. Average pod set and later maturing when grown in 2016 at Heritage Farm. Donated to SSE in 2002 by Francis Earl Barfield of Corbin, KY. This variety was a staple in Barfield's garden and one that he felt was hard to find. SSE Accession # 112827
