Russian Purple

AKA Purple Russian. 80+ days, 42+" sprawly vine with dark greenish red flesh, greenish shoulder, fruits to 3" high x 2" wide (many smaller), 40-200g, 3- or 4-lobed, heavy bearing August 8 through October, very juicy, very tasty. Ripe fruits peel easily for freezing, too much juice for drying. Not disease resistant. Crack badly after a rain, and the cracks rot. Will climb into nearby bushes or fennel plants for support. Everyone comments on the nice taste - a favorite. 2019 or 2020 seed or seed from a few 2021 volunteers.
