WAX-POLE
Pole, wax bean. Used as a snap, shelling and dry bean by donor. Strong climber. Snap beans are tender but dry with subtle flavor. Pods light green-yellow; 4.5-5.5" long; 0.5" wide; curved. Moderate suture string. Pods turn yellow at maturity. 4-7 seeds per pod. Seeds tan with brown stripes; oval; slightly flattened. Dry beans have a nice flavor and smooth texture. White flowers. Medium-low productivity when grow in 2016 at Heritage Farm. Plants suffered from anthracnose. Late maturing. Donated to SSE by the late Mary Ann Fox (IN FO M). Originally given to Mary Ann in 1994 from Annabelle Kelley of Waldron, Indiana who indicated that it had been grown by her family since at least the 1920s. SSE Accession # 105159
