Uncle Roy

C. moschata. Pumpkin type. Round to oblong, smooth, ribbed, buff colored fruit. Averages 11" length, 10" diameter, 15 lbs. Deep orange flesh color. Roasted seeds have good flavor and texture. Squash is sweet but does not have much depth of flavor. Stringy, moist flesh. SSE staff made a tasty squash bread with it in 2012. Vining plants. Leaves moderately lobed; silvering ranges from strong to weak. Donated to SSE by Glen Summers (KY SU G). SSE Accession # 120039
