Dark green, savoyed spinach. Semi-upright leaf angle. Hastate to heart-shaped leaves are strongly cupped downward. Plants reach 7" tall and 20" wide. Leaves up to 8" long and 6" wide. Slow to bolt when spring grown. Round seed. Acquired by SSE from Southern Exposure Seed Exchange, who offered it in their catalogs from 1983-1995. It was originally developed by Sluis en Groot, a Dutch seed company, and was awarded the All-America Selections Silver Medal when it was released in 1952. SSE Accession # 119590
