Looseleaf lettuce blushed with purple-red. Leaves are broad and slightly undulating at the margin, moderately blistered. Tender but lacking flavor. Plants reach 6-7" tall and 10-13" wide. Resists bolting. White seed. Donated to SSE circa 1990 by SSE member George Reisner (IL RE G). George's mother purchased the variety from a family-run greenhouse. The greenhouse owners originally acquired the lettuce "down south" and had already grown the lettuce for over 30 years when they decided to sell some plants from their greenhouse.
