Marmony Marble

Round, medium-sized fruit, somewhat variable in size. Pale green rind with dark green stripes at the stem and blossom ends and dark green speckles throughout. Fruit measured 6-9" long and 5-8" in diameter and weighed 4-18 lbs. in 2012 drought year at Heritage Farm. Good flavor and texture. Very sweet and juicy. Pink flesh. Somewhat seedy. Reddish-brown seeds. Productive plants. Mid-season maturing. Donated to SSE by John Swenson (IL SW J); from the USSR. SSE Accession # 127864
