A yardlong bean. Requires a tall trellis. Pods range from 15-25" long and contain 12-17 seeds. Each peduncle bears 2-4 slightly coiled, green pods. Pods are slightly astringent and moderately tender. Seeds are solid brown-red and kidney-shaped. Flowers are violet. Mid-season maturing. Medium-high productivity when grown in 2016 at Heritage Farm. Donated to SSE by Dan Eaton (IL EA D) who originally obtained the variety in 1946 in Nagasaki, Japan. SSE Accession # 106079
