WAX-POLE
Wax bean. Vigorously climbing pole bean. Long, slightly recurving, yellow-green pods. Snap beans have a good, mild flavor and are tender; stringless; and moderately juicy. Pods are flat and wide and measure 6-9" long. 7-9 seeds per pod. White flowers. Non-pigmented plants. Large, white, oval-shaped seeds. Highly productive when grown in 2015 at Heritage Farm. Mid-season maturing. Donated to SSE in 2013 by Helen Hanks of Kansas. Helen began growing and saving seed from this variety in about 1970 when she received seeds of it from her mother, Nola Meek Prose (deceased). Nola received seeds of the variety in about 1960 from a cousin named Ila Doty Garrison (deceased) of Oelwein, Iowa. SSE Accession # 132317
