Beefsteak tomato that is slightly flattened, but some fruit are heart-shaped. Fruit is dark orange-yellow in color and measure 2.7 to 3.4 inches long, 3-4 inches wide and weigh up to 1 pound. Fruit 2-4 per cluster. Indeterminate plants have standard leaves and inserted styles. BRIX score 5.1. Mid-season maturing and low productivity when grown in 2016 at Heritage Farm. Taste is described as tart and fruity. Donated to SSE by Hugh & Barbara Havercamp. The variety was grown by Barbara's father, Ralph Mead Thompson of Woburn, MA. Reportedly grown since about 1711.
