VEGETABLES / TOMATO
ORANGE-YELLOW
Yellow, round cherry tomato. Fruit hold very well on the plants, true to its name. Vigorous, leafy, indeterminate plants. Resists splitting. Fruit average 1.25" in diameter. 4-8 fruit per cluster. Moderately sweet. Brix 6.0. Regular leaves. Highly productive when grown in 2015 at Heritage Farm. Mid-season maturing. Donated to SSE in 1994 by William Hopkins (PA HO W). Hopkins grew this variety since the 1950/1960s when he obtained it from Frank Stewart, a gardener at the E. A. Poe estate (Ropsley, built in 1916) in the Chestnut Hill district near Philadelphia PA. This E. A. Poe was not the famous author, but a relative instead. Hopkins indicated that fruits picked when green and held to ripen will keep for months. SSE Accession # 125076
