Florentine Silk

Good flavor and texture. Variation in fruit color. Some fruit are mostly white, others are mostly pink. Most fruit is somewhere in between. Fruit shape irregular. Market mature fruit weighs, 5.4-23.5 oz; measures 3.1-5.1" wide and 4.3-6.3" long. Seed mature fruit yellow. Plants are 1.7-2.4 ft tall. Leaves moderately lobed, few prickles, green. Main stem green and purple with spines. Low productivity. No lodging. Mid season maturity. Donated to SSE in 2016 by Suzanne Ashworth (CA AS S). The variety has been popular on the Exchange since 1990. Suzanne purchased the variety from Sementi Seeds, an Italian Seed company. SSE Accession # 132983
