A great shelling pea. Straight, green pods become round and well-filled with 6-7 large peas/pod. Peas are juicy, tender, and sweet. Pods 3-3.5 inches long. Usually two pods per peduncle, occasionally just one. Vines grow 3' in height and are vigorous and leafy. White flowers. Seeds are pale green, flattened and wrinkled. Early to mid-season. Highly productive. Well-liked in the 2020 ADAPT trials for its earliness, productivity, flavor, and long harvest window. Given to SSE by Roy Peters. This variety is reportedly a family heirloom which came to U.S. over 200 years ago. SSE Accession # 114840
