Organic Listing
Indet. Regular leaf. AKA Mortgage Lifter, Large Pink. ("Cordon" means indeterminate or pruned to a single trunk to gardeners in Europe, which I didn't know when I originally listed the variety, which I received from an English gardener). Indeterminate. Regular leaf. Large, 1-lb irregular fruits, often with amusing faces, can break off the branches of this pink variant of the famous beefsteak tomato bred in the 1930's by West Virginia's "Radiator Charlie" Byles. By selling the plants for a dollar each he paid off his $6000 mortgage in six years. The fruit are flat, low acid, solid, mild tasting with few seeds and perfect for sandwiches. Excellent slicer. Heavy yields. Consistent taste test winner. 85 days.
