Seed mature pods reach 9-11" long and 1" in diameter. Best eaten under 6" long. Heavy bearer. Subtle flavor. Sweet. Donated to SSE in the early 1990s by Dorothy Smith (TX SM D), who acquired it in 1983 from Eunice Montgomery (MS MO E) of Natchez, Mississippi. Eunice received it in 1980 from a friend, Ruth Campbell, also of Natchez. Ruth's mother-in-law, Mrs. Campbell, lived in Franklin County, MS and died in 1960 at age 90. Mrs. Campbell stated that her own parents (Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan) raised this okra during her childhood. SSE estimates the variety dates to at least the 1870s. SSE Accession # 114024
