Long and straight, dark green fruit. Light green stripes and speckles extend halfway to the stem end. Few white spines on prominent bumps. Superficial ribbing. Fruit becomes light yellow with some persistent green patches at seed maturity. Market mature fruit measure 5-8" long by 1.4-2.6" wide and weigh 4-9oz. Seed mature fruit reach 5.5-8.8" long by 2.6-3.4" wide. Very good flavor. Firm flesh. Slightly thick, slightly bitter skin. Mid-season maturing. Average productivity when grown in 2013 at Heritage Farm. Donated to SSE by the late Garland Zimmerman (MO ZI G). Grown by Zimmerman's grandparents, Hershel and Goldie Mae Zimmerman, near Malden, MO since at least the 1960s. Used by the family to make pickles. SSE Accession # 109426
