Boitano Sweet Red

Large, red onion with purple-pink skins. Some variation in shape from slightly flattened (most common) to globe to rhomboid. Many bulbs have multiple growing centers. Flesh is white with light red rings. Mild flavor. Low pungency. Strong, tall, blue-green tops stand well after most other varieties have fallen over. Thick necks. Long day. SSE Accession # 133186
