VEGETABLES / BEAN
SNAP-POLE
Pole bean climbing to 8' or more, early producing. Use as a dry bean or as a snap bean when pods are small. Pods grow very long with about 6 seeds per pod. According to Sara Bangs, who grew this variety in 2021 for the Collection Documentation Project, the plants grew vigorously early in the season but became diseased and she removed them mid-summer. She noted that the pods are edible raw at the filet bean size, with "floral notes and no bitterness at the end." The dry beans "resemble Hanna Hank in size and coloring." This variety was donated to SSE in the late 1990s by Aaron Moon of Lincoln, Nebraska. He received this variety from man in Berrion Springs Michigan. SSE Accession # 105057
