VEGETABLES / KALE
Siberian kale. Brassica napus. Green, flat leaves are spoon shaped with a notched margin. Light green petioles. Largest leaves 16-20" long and 7-8.5" wide. A very tasty kale. Mild flavor and slightly sweet, chewy but tender al dente texture. This variety was trialed in 2016 at the University of Wisconsin's West Madison Agricultural Research Station. It had medium to low productivity and uniformity. It was not particularly cold hardy and was susceptible to disease (fusarium) and pests. Given to SSE by Blane Bourgeois (AR BO B).
