C. moschata. Cheese squash. Tan colored fruit are oblate in shape with pronounced ribbing. Fruit measure 4-5 inches long, 7.8-9.5 inches wide, and weigh up to 7 pounds. Fruit has a very long thin peduncle. Plants are highly vining. Highly productive and mid-season maturing when grown in 2016 at Heritage Farm. A very good tasting cheese squash that is sweet and nutty, but stringy and watery. Dry matter content 9.06. BRIX reading 6.2. Donated to SSE by John Van Zweden (SD ZW J) who listed this variety in the 1985 SSE Yearbook Exchange where he described it as having been "in family for many years." A variety by this name has been exchanged in the Yearbook for at least 20 years. SSE Accession # 120000
