Roots cream-colored with purple shoulders; mostly buried in soil. Shape ranges from round to triangular. Averages 3-4.5" long; 3" in diameter. Cream colored flesh. Good texture, subtle flavor, moderately bitter. Greens very bitter from spring planting. Light purple petioles. Donated to SSE by Betty Lamb (CA LA B) who received this variety from Will Bonsall (ME BO W) in 1992. Used by Lamb for mild flavored greens in cool weather. SSE Accession # 119216
