Bush habit. Can be eaten dry or as a snap when young. Used like a navy bean by donor. Smooth and creamy when cooked. Juicy as a snap, and easy to shell. Plants have light pink flowers. Short straight green pods measure 3.4-4.7" long. Shattering dry pods contain 3-5 seeds. Small, round tan/yellow seeds. Moderately productive and mid season maturing when grown in 2017 at Heritage Farm. Donated to SSE by Mr. Lorence. This variety was originally grown by Lorence's grandmother Basta (1870-1948), who brought the bean from Nebraska to Minnesota in about 1900. SSE Accession # 104704
