Early Yellow Six Weeks

85 days. Flowers white, turning lavender. Rounded pods are 5 inches long, averaging 5 seeds per pod. Seeds rounded, kidney-shaped, yellowish drab when newly harvested, fading to yellowish-brown over time with a brown ring around the eye. Mentioned by Amelia Simmons in 1796 in American Cookery and thought to be known much earlier.
