Vining and productive medium sized seeds, excellent fresh-shelled as butterbeans. Fresh shelled color ranges from green to dark purple, depending on age. Cook to a lovely violet-grey. This type seems to tolerate heat better than many limas. Best grown on a 6-7 foot trellis for easier picking. Very good production in VA, 2020. Dry seed is black, although rain and humidity during maturation can cause pigment to bleed out. Picture is of fresh-shelled, not fully matured seed.
