Used as a grain, vegetable, or ornamental. Attractive, red-green leaves. Dark pink-red, erect flower heads with many side branches. Plants grew 5-6.5' tall in 2016 at Heritage Farm. Flowered mid to late June. White seeds. This variety is from Dr. Alan Kapuler of Peace Seeds (CV Pe1) whose catalogs offered it from 1988-1993. In 1994, Peace Seeds began offering their varieties in a catalog called Deep Diversity, which was the result of a partnership between Peace Seeds and Seeds of Change. Deep Diversity carried the variety until 1995. According to SSE’s Garden Seed Inventory (GSI) publications, this variety has been commercially available in the US from 1987-2004, and as of 2014, it can be purchased from a large number of seed companies in the US.
