C. reticulatus. A standout muskmelon for flavor and productivity in 2023 at Heritage Farm. Smaller, round heavily netted fruit have yellow skin and slight ribbing. Fruit measure 4-5.5 inches long, 4.5-5.5 inches wide, and weigh up to 3 pounds. Orange flesh is up 1.25 inches thick. Fruit has a very thin rind. BRIX reading 9.7. Very productive and mid-maturing when grown in 2016 and 2023 at Heritage Farm. This is a wonderful melon that is soft, juicy, aromatic, and very sweet. This accession matches the description of Granite State listed in the University of New Hampshire Agricultural Experiment Station Bulletin 380. Donated to SSE by Robert Kennedy (MI KE R) who received his seed stock in 1983 from Park Seed Company (CV Par). This variety was originally developed at the New Hampshire Agricultural Experiment Station and was introduced in 1946. It was an All-America Selections winner in 1951. SSE Accession # 112980
