Pole bean. Snap bean. Strong climber. White flowers. Pods mature from green to yellow at the mature pod stage. Fully expanded pods are recurved, with a somewhat strong suture string, and moderate constriction between seeds. measure 5.75-9" long and about 0.5" wide. 5-9 seeds per pods. Large seeds are white and kidney shaped. Late season and high yield when grown in 2015 at Heritage Farm. Snap beans have good crisp texture and are tender, but have a slight astringency to them. Donated to SSE by Shirley Brigden. This accession is likely an example of the historic commercial variety 'Morse's Pole No. 191' which was developed by the Ferry-Morse Seed Co. circa 1936.
