From Syria and thrives in hot dry weather. Gorgeous black and pinkish-purple shiny seed, 5/8x1/4x1/4", easy to shell. Pods in our damp climate have black or chestnut brown moldy patches. Very uniform seed and pod size and seeds per pod. More southern growers report 95 days to ripen and violet flowers. 140 days in MI. Did best in 2014 (perfect weather) and in very dry 2016 and poorly since then. 2022 2024 or 2025 seeds.
