Haricot Tarbais

VEGETABLES / BEAN
DRY-POLE
115 days to dry. Traditional cassoulet dry pole bean (8-10ft tall). Produce flat white dry beans. 2-5 beans per pod. Highly productive. Seed produced in 2023 from 200+ plants. I was given these seeds in 2019 from my friend Monique who is from France. Seed was in a Cooperative du Haricot Tarbais box. Description from the box: “Our shelling variety produces long pods that contain 4-6 white, long and flat grains. Pods can be picked up fresh or dry. And even if it does not have quite the same taste be-cause it will not have grown in its soil of Bigorre, your white bean will have a melting and soft flesh, a very good behavior to the cooking and you will be able to cook it according to your desires! With a box of 150g you will sow approximately 50 linear meters and will be able to harvest about 10 kg of dry beans in grains or about 30 kg of fresh pods. Sow in light soil and in hot conditions. The grain will be sown at a depth of 3-4 cm and spaced 20 cm. Use corn as guardian or rowing net."
