Marmaton Valley

Plants grow 1.5-2.5' tall. Straight, green pods become round at maturity. White flowers and non-pigmented plants. Little to no basal branching. Mature pods are 2.5-3.5" long and 0.5-0.7" wide. Non-edible, fibrous pods. Shelling peas are very sweet with good flavor. Commonly six peas per pod. Shattering dry pods. Wrinkled, green and yellow seeds. Dry peas are slightly sweet with a classic pea flavor and smooth texture. Early maturing. Acquired by SSE from Robert Wood (KS WO R) circa the early 1990s. SSE Accession # 115493
