Brown Sugar Crowder

Vines have moderate climbing tendency. Extensive purple pigmentation on stems and racemes. Non-pigmented pods, drying to brown. White flowers with violet streaking. Straight, pendant pods, 4-7" long by 0.4" wide. 6-16 seeds per pod. Solid brown, ovoid seeds with a red eye. Dry cowpeas have a slightly sweet flavor. Standard productivity. Mid-season maturing. Given to SSE by Verena Ausburn (GA AU V) who obtained it from a neighbor who got the seeds in 1969 from CV Has. SSE Accession # 108935
