Moldavian

Fruits globe-shaped, softball- to volleyball-sized, the rind pale yellow- and green-striped, the flesh pale pink with many blackish seeds. Plants vigorous and attractive, producing 3-5 melons each, surviving a late frost. Grown by Cristy Yarborough and another grower in 2021 for the Collection Documentation Project; they rated the variety "very good". Cristy reported that the fruits "had wonderful flavor, but each was only enough for one serving each for 2 people." SSE Accession # 127851
