An ornamental, pear-shaped squash. Rind is yellow-orange with green stripes from end to end. Shape is quite variable, ranging from squat to elongated. Fruit measure 5-8 inches long, 4-5 inches wide, and weigh 2-3 pounds. Flesh is pale orange and not recommended for eating. Highly vining plants are highly productive. Donated to SSE by Fred Pierson who obtained the variety in 1986 from Mrs. Jettie Horne Johnson of Castlewood, VA. Grown by the Johnson family since at least 1931. Likely grown prior to that by Jettie's parents, John and Martha Horne, in Fort Blackmore, VA. SSE Accession # 120171
