Oh So Sweet

Round fruit, somewhat variable in size. Light green rind with irregular, dark green stripes from stem to blossom end. Weak longitudinal grooves on both ends. Fruit measured 6-9" long and 6-9" in diameter and weighed 4-12 lbs. in 2012 drought year at Heritage Farm. Red flesh with good flavor and texture. Sweet and juicy. Brown seeds with black speckles. Few seeds. Early maturing. This variety was donated to SSE by Mrs. Virdie Smith (TX SM V) of Gladewater, Texas who received it from a friend. SSE Accession # 127728
