Mammoth Russian, Tall

A true show-stopper of a sunflower. Plants up to 14 feet tall (some reported up to 17 feet) and rather narrow in architecture. Smaller head size measures 4-8 inches in diameter. Ray flowers and disk flowers both yellow. Leaves are medium in size and heart-shaped. Stems are hairy near the top. Seeds are white with grey stripes. Donated to SSE by Daniel Sabo (IL SA D) who received this variety in 2001 from Richard Bott (MI BO R). SSE Accession # 121196
