Haricot Rouge du Burkina Faso

Cooked peas have a good, earthy flavor. Weakly sprawling, indeterminate plants have pale violet flowers. Green sub-hastate leaves. Dark green, immature pods are pigmented at the tip and along the suture string. Mature pods are slightly curved, dark purple and measure 5.6-6.0" long. Pods hang semi-erect throughout canopy. 14-15 seeds per pod. Small, square, maroon seeds. Moderately productive when grown on Heritage Farm in 2018. Dry pods in mid August. Previously listed by SSE in the Exchange under the name 'Burkine Fasso Red,' the current name is more correct. SSE Accession # 109070
