Also known as "Noir De Carmes". 80 days. True caneloupe, sweet, juicy orange flesh, round to oblate, slightly ribbed, 2-3 lb fruit. Preserved by Carmelite monks in France since at least the 1800s, perhaps longer. Aromatic. Ripe when the rinds turn from dark green to yellow/orangish-green--happens over just a day or two, so watch them closely at 75-80 days so something else doesn't get the tasty fruit.
