SWEET
Mid-season yellow sweet corn. Beatiful deep yellow-orange kernel color. Fair flavor. Medium-low sweetness and somewhat tough. Starchy and creamy. Ears have a nice size and shape and are well-filled. Ears average 6" long, 1.5" wide. 2-3 ears per plant. White cobs. 10 kernel rows. Plants average 5' tall with 1-2 tillers per plant. Green stems. Erect leaves. Donated to SSE by M.H. Ingersoll who obtained it circa 1950 from Ingersoll's aunt, Mrs. Ruth Hill. Originally from the family of Ruth's mother, the Van Valkenburgs, of Sumas, WA. The corn was supposedly brought to Washington when the Van Valkenburgs settled near Sumas in 1883. SSE Accession # 108033
