Purple

Attractive, tall, dark red plants produce long, thin, dark red pods. Pods are ridged and prickly. Leaves are highly lobed, blushed with dark purple, and have red veins. Dark red stems. Plants reach 8-9 feet tall in northeast Iowa. Pods 10-12 inches long at full maturity. Pods have a distinctive, earthy flavor. SSE Accession # 133111
