Large, red, indeterminate beefsteak tomato with excellent flavor. Plants are about 5 feet tall with very low productivity. Fruits are about 3.5 inches long, 5-5.5 inches wide, are born singly or in pairs, have some radial cracking but a low splitting tendency and have defined ribbing. Flavor is very pleasant; sweet, with a good balance of acidity and a juicy, meaty texture. Late maturing; This is a family heirloom tomato grown since about 2010 by Dan Reap of Arlington, Vermont. Dan received this variety from his cousin, James Reap of Wilmington, Delaware. It was passed down from their grandmother, Elvira (Resio) Reap, whose family came to the U.S. from Italy was Elvira was young. Dan remembers spending summers at his grandparent's home in Berwick, Pennsylvania and he grows the tomato today to honor his grandmother. SSE Accession # 133682
