Roots cream-colored with purple shoulders; half-buried; elongated/carrot-shaped. Roots average 3" long; 2" wide; and 0.4 lb. Flesh cream-yellow. Sweet flavor with very little bitterness and good texture. Dark purple petioles. Acquired by SSE from Territorial Seeds (CV Ter) in the 1980s. In their catalogs, Territorial mentioned that this is a home garden gourmet variety from England. SSE Accession # 119192
