A vigorously climbing runner bean with some variability. Most pods are solid green, though a small minority of plants produce pods that develop purple stripes. Seeds display three color morphs - purple with slight black mottling; purple with heavy black mottling; and solid white. Flowers mostly scarlet colored, though some plants throw white flowers. Green pods (6-7 inches long) and dry seeds have excellent flavor. SSE Accession # 119172
