FRUITS-BERRIES-NUTS / APPLE
Organic Listing
Scionwood ($8) and a 3-year-old bare root tree on G.214 semi-dwarfing rootstock ($45) available. An early, showy bloomer and excellent pollinizer due to being diploid and its extended blooming period, suitable for pollenizing apple varieties in the first three bloom groups, which is why it is so popular in orchards. Also produces delicious, bright red elongated 1" red crabapples. First to bloom and first to ripen each season of my dozen varieties. Makes beautiful, delicious crabapple jelly. Ideal for planting on property lines. If space is limited, grafting a a scion of this onto another apple variety to get a single branch for flowering will enhance fruit set of the host variety and other apples in compatible bloom groups nearby.
