Desmanthus illinoensis. Perennial legume with yellow flowers in early autumn; zone 5 hardy; nitrogen fixing; good livestock protein when used in hay fields. Small seeds have supposedly been made experimentally into an edible product analogous to tempeh. Source: wildcrafted near the village of Dogwood in Douglas County, Missouri, and near Longrun in Ozark County.
