Donated to SSE in 1996 by A.E. Bothwell (MI BO A), who got his seed from Joel Recten in 1944. This variety was developed in 1933 by well-known plant breeder Dr. A. F. Yeager at the North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station in Fargo, ND. It resulted from a cross between common Yellow Pear and Bison. SSE Accession # 125464
