 Shelling pea. Short plants 8-16" tall. Shelling peas become slightly starchy and are best eaten young. Straight, green pods become round as they mature.  Mature pods average 2-3" long and 0.5-0.7" wide.  Non-edible, fibrous pods.  Dry peas are starchy with a slightly sweet flavor. White flowers and non-pigmented plants. Little to no basal branching.  Small stipules.  Shattering dry pods.  Large, wrinkled green and yellow seeds.  Poor flavor and texture as a soup pea.  Relatively early maturing. SSE Accession # 114876
