La Brillante

A beautiful, large crisphead lettuce that forms loose heads at maturity, although head formation can be un-predictable. Leaves are yellow-green, moderately curly and moderately blistered. Flavor is very sweet and crisp, but slightly tough and astringent although, weather seems to impact the taste and in the right conditions the leaves are significantly more bitter. Matures in mid-season, resists bolting and will not reliably bolt at Heritage Farm before rotting. Plants reach 6-8" tall and 15.5-19.5" wide. White seed.
